Is multisite network backup really free?

Yes. Core network and subsite backup and restore are available in the free plugin. Plus and Pro add cloud schedules, imports, and installer workflows — not the ability to back up a network.

Can a subsite admin back up only their site?

Yes. Users with manage_options on a subsite can run backups and restores for that site from the site dashboard, without Network Admin access.

How do I limit which sites go into an archive?

Use backup scope options to include or exclude subsites per job. That keeps large agency networks from packing every site into every archive.

Does network backup work on shared hosting?

Yes. Jobs are chunked and resumable so tight PHP time limits on shared hosts do not force a full restart of a large network archive.
